In the bustling city of Bakersfield, there is an iconic place of business, a hidden gem and I am in love.

Saturday was our first wedding at River Bluffs, a new venue. River Bluffs sits on the Kern River in the mountains of Kern County. Beautiful large trees and acres of lush land. The sounds of the river flowing in the background made the mood even more romantic. Here, on a radiant April day, Rebecca and Baldemar arrived to celebrate the best day of their lives.

The morning was full of sweet laughter and teamwork. A couple of the bridesmaid helped each other with hair, as Rebecca started her prep. Rocking out in their floral robes, the bride and her bridesmaids began their prep with positive energy & excitement. Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen had some drinks to calm their nerves. And, when Baldemar finished getting ready, and the last button was buttoned on Rebecca’s dress, the time had arrived to head to the first look. The first look is an excellent way to get more portraits on your wedding day and maybe even get to mingle a little bit during cocktail hour. Escorted by her father down the aisle in front of her childhood home, Rebecca, in her sophisticated gown and heart-stopping tulle and lace veil, absolutely glowed.

Under the excellent guidance of the wedding coordinator, Colleen with her team of Fairy Godmothers, the talented vendors painted a romantic scene. The colors of the floral arrangements were perfectly planned, more modern elements, like the naked wedding cake, with flowers and ornamented with white frosting, crafted by Kara of RK cakes. The tablescape, overflowing with blooms, was decorated in gold centerpieces and nostalgic handmade place cards. Even the custom made rings followed the thread of romantic elegance in the colors of the river around us.

Surrounded by twinkle lights and with the warm scent of the outdoors, the celebration carried on well into the night. The toasts from the sister of the bride and the groom’s best man were heartfelt and full of laughter. Rebecca’s family has some talented signers in their family, for her two brothers sang to everyone beautifully. After an enormous group hug, the bride and groom turned the party up to 11 by dancing surrounded by sparklers and hitting the dance floor.

Wow, what a fantastic night to remember. All the locations were perfect: from prep to reception, Baldemar & Rebecca chose the best.
