A modern, intimate wedding at The Padre Hotel in Bakersfield, Ca

I am very excited to share the Dixon’s wedding at The Padre Hotel with you guys today. Monica & Sedrick event is the first wedding of the year, and we couldn’t be any happier!!! I have to admit the days leading up to their day; I was a little nervous. It rained for days the week before. However, the day of the wedding was perfect. Monica played it safe by renting tents, which was very smart. It did sprinkle a little in the evening, but it made for a great foreground in their first dance pictures.

We started with bride & groom prep at The Padre Hotel. Everyone was eager and excited for the wedding to begin. Monica and her crew were in one room, while the guys were in a separate room across the hall. Both of them getting ready at the same location is very helpful for your photography & cinema team. So big THANK YOU Monica & Sedrick for making out lives a little bit easier. Lol, The closer the better. I loved the room Monica booked. It was spacious and had a big window for beautiful light. I loved all their matching robes and wedding details. Of course, we always want to get a robe shot when everyone has matching ones. Super cute even Monica & Sedrick’s mom received their robes as well. The feel of the day was calm but exciting.

Monica & Sedrick chose the Belvedere room for their wedding at The Padre Hotel to have their ceremony. The teal accent color added a nice pop to their gold & pink wedding. The room was filled with their closest friends & family as they became one. Their ceremony was short and sweet. Both of their mothers lit their candles for them to light the unity candle. One of my favorite moments is when they said their vowels. Sedrick didn’t write to him before he came straight from the heart. It was so sweet!!!! Shortly after the ceremony, we headed outside for beautiful wedding pictures on the rooftop across from The Padre. The clouds were perfect!!!! For their reception, we headed right down the street to the Gardens at Millcreek. It was decorated in all their wedding colors and ready for all their guest to arrive. Something I thought was super cool was they had their Dj, videographer, and bartenders all wear Lakers jerseys because Monica & Sedd love the Lakers. Like LOVE!!!!! The night ended with rain droplets sprinkling in our reception portraits it was captivating.

Monica, I want to tell you how lovely you looked in your mermaid wedding gown. Your makeup and hair were on point!!!!!! The details on your belt were perfect with the jewelry you chose. I love yours and your momma’s face dearly. Thank you for choosing us to share your special day with and allowing us to document it. The vibe was contagious, and I didn’t even want to leave. Sedrick is a good man and super hilarious!!! I love the way he makes you smile & laugh it is precious. May the Lord bless you with many more years of happiness. This is a new chapter in your lives, and I am excited to see what is in store for ya.
