Our first trip to Maui

March 2019

We did something AMAZING in March. We went to Hawaii for the first time ever!!! Maui was absolutely perfect every inch of that beautiful island. I just want to live in Maui now. The experience with my family was one I will cherish forever.

Maui is like a slice of heaven. It’s truly paradise. We flew with American Airlines and the tv’s on the back of the seats were lifesavers for kid travel. The 5-hour flight was kinda rough. I can’t imagine flying for longer. Bless your heart if you have to fly more than 5 hrs regularly. As soon as we arrived we saw chickens and rosters at the airport. A short 45 minute trip from the airport and we were at our condominium Aina Nalu Lahaina by Outrigger. This condo is located in Lahaina. First street is located downtown, and it was literally two blocks walking distance from us. By the time we got our hotel, it was around 9 pm. Our condo was a 2 bedroom with a sleeper coach it fit our family just right. The decor was modern and very clean. I didn’t take any pictures of inside the condo oopsy daisy, but next time I will. We settled in then headed to front st for dinner. That was a wrap for our first night in Maui.

The first day we went to the other side of the Island near the airport. The first place we went to was Baby Beach. After that, we headed to the local Walmart and just relaxed the first full day in Maui. These photos below are from our first day in Hawaii!!!!

The second day we tackled the road to Hanah with our Shaka Maui App. This App is a must have because there is no cell reception out there, and the app tells you where to go. It’s very entertaining, and you get to chose when and where to stop. We first stopped in the twin waterfalls. After exploring a lava cave we ventured to the Black Sand Beach. The water is so clear, but do bring sandals or water shoes. The Seven Sacred Pools was our last stop before heading back home. This was a 14 hour day so plan accordingly. The views amazing to say the least.

The third day did not disappoint as we opted to go horseback riding in Wailuku mountains in the morning. The trails were drop dead gorgeous. The people there are so friendly and informative. This is the first horseback ride we have went on that actually let us run the horses at the end. This was one of my favorite parts of the whole Maui vacation. Everywhere we go we always go on a horseback ride. If you go to Maui you must check out this place out Maui Mountain Activities. They also have ATV’s you can ride on the trails. We plan to do ATV’s next time. Later that afternoon we did some shopping on Front St. and attended a Luau at the Hyatt. The food was delicious and the performance was full of colorful dancing and folk stories.

On the fourth day, we boarded a submarine in the morning and it dropped to 175 ft deep. We saw a reef shark and lots of interesting fishes. In the afternoon we had a sunset dinner on the ocean. The cruise provided dinner that was fantastic and sunset views were so pretty from the boat. We fell in love with Maui from the minute we arrived.

The last day we did the zip line adventure with our friends at Skyline Adventures. This was so much fun, and the scenery just smelled so fresh and looked so fabulous. Our zip line tour guides were hilarious and full of jokes. They made the experience that much better. Thank you!! Maui was an amazing experience, to say the least. We fell in love with the culture, the music, and the people. Every one is so relaxed because they get to experience a slice of paradise.
