Brett & Leslie’s Big Sur elopement was the thing dreams are made of!

When Leslie contacted me about her idea for a Big Sur Elopement, I was ecstatic!!!! Leslie and Brett are an outdoor couple. They love nature almost as much as they love each other. Leslie & Brett chose to seal their vows by the scenic highway 1 near Big Sur. This location holds sentimental value to both of them. They love to get away and ride bikes down amazing trails near the ocean. They decided to have an intimate ceremony with only a handful of friends and family. They are celebrating their reception in November. Let me tell you this; their elopement was very relaxed because we were not rushed. We captured terrific pictures throughout the whole day. The reception is going to be relaxed too because the ceremony was first and done with. It is like breaking up the crazy busy wedding day into two relaxed wedding days β€” the best of both worlds.

We started the day capturing Leslie’s prep. She was so calm, knowing her good friends and family were there to support her union. The prep location was at Ragged Point Inn. The hotel views in the back were breathtaking cliffs with waves crashing down melodically. After Leslie was finished getting ready, we headed over to Brett, which was just a few steps down the road. He was nervous because he does not like taking pictures, but we made the experience fun and painless. Brett says he doesn’t like taking pictures but sure was good at it. He just doesn’t think so.

Leslie’s sister is ordained, and she was so happy to be the one to marry them. Their mother was so proud and happy. Leslie’s dress was stunning, and it flowed so lovely in the coastal winds. The spot they chose for the ceremony had tall grass at first and then a big open field with coastal access. The sun was setting behind them, giving them an extra glow. They shared their vows and shared some champagne. After they hung out for a bit, we continued capturing amazing pictures near the cliffs. It was relaxing, and the views were gorgeous 360 degrees around. It was a fantastic day, to say the least. Just before the sun had set, we drove to a park with amazing tall trees to finished their perfect elopement. We are super excited to document the reception this fall.
